2019 National Para and VI Championships – Team Manager – Expressions of Interest

Archery Victoria will be supporting Victorian athletes competing at the 2019 National Para & VI Championships.

To support our athletes, Archery Victoria wishes to appoint a Team Manager for the Championships to be held at Mount Petrie Bowmen in QLD from 25-27 January 2019.

This position is a voluntary position and cannot be filled by someone who is competing at the Championships. It can however be filled by someone accompanying one of the archers to the event.

The Team Manager will be provided with access to funds to cover some of their expenses and to provide services to the archers.

The duty statement for this position can be downloaded from the Archery Victoria website at:

http://archeryvic.org.au/duty-statements/  (Document 0241).

This is an important position which requires commitment and people management skills.  A strong knowledge of archery and, in particular, a knowledge of the requirements of para and VI archery are highly desirable.  The successful applicant will be required to support our athletes before, during and after the championships.

Applications for this position must be made on the State Officer Nomination Form which is attached to this email.  As the team may include youth archers, this form includes a commitment to Victorian Child Safe requirements.

Applicants for these positions should be aware that they will be required to attach the following documents to their application.

  • 1.       Working with Children Check (scanned copy of card).  If you do not have a Working with Children Check you are required to apply for one, listing Archery Victoria and your Club as your volunteer organisations.   Please attach a copy of your receipt if you have not yet received your card.   You will not be considered for these positions if you do not have a Working with Children Check or if you fail to gain or maintain a Working with Children Check.  Your Working with Children Check must be current throughout the period of the championships.
  • 2.       Certificate of Completion Australian Sports Commission “Community Coaching General Principles”.   This is an online course which can be accessed at the following link: https://learning.ausport.gov.au/auth/login/?returnUrl=%2F .  It should take you about 2 hours to complete.   Once you have completed the course you will be able to print off a Certificate of Completion.   Please scan and send a copy of this certificate with your application.  If you have already completed this course you will not need to do it again.   You will still need to include a copy of the Certificate of Completion with your application.
  • 3.       The application form – as attached – can be completed electronically and emailed to secretary@archeryvic.org.au .

Applications must be received by close of business 18 December 2018.  Applications will be considered by the AV Board and the successful applicant notified as soon as possible.
