2019 NYAC State Team Manager Expression Of Interest

2019 NYAC State Team Manager – Expression Of Interest

Archery Victoria requires two Team Managers for the upcoming 2019 National Youth Archery Championships to be held in Armidale NSW from 12 – 18 April 2019.  These positions are voluntary positions and cannot be filled by someone who is competing at the Championships.  They can, however, be filled by someone accompanying one of the youth archers to the event.   The Team Managers will be provided with access to funds to cover some of their expenses and to provide services to the archers.   Due to the nature of this event, we are seeking a mix of gender for these two positions (i.e. one female and one male).

The duty statement for this position can be downloaded from the Archery Victoria web site document via this link:

0241 – State Team Manager

Please note that the State Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager will be expected to assist all Victorian entrants to the National Championship – not just those on the State Team.   These are busy positions which require commitment and people management skills.  A sound knowledge of archery would also be helpful.   The successful applicants may also be expected to work together to organise pre-event activities to get our Youth Archers ready for the championships.

Team Managers will be required to familiarise themselves with the Victoria Child Safe Legislation and make a Statement of Commitment to uphold the legislation throughout these Championships.   The Statement of Commitment forms part of the nomination form which is attached to this email.  Information about Child Safe can be found at  https://ccyp.vic.gov.au

Applications for these positions must be made on the Nomination Form attached here: State Team Manager Nomination Form

Applicants for these positions are required to attach the following documents to their application.

1.       Working with Children Check (scanned copy of card).  If you do not have a Working with Children Check you are required to apply for one, listing Archery Victoria and your Club as your volunteer organisations.   Please attach a copy of your receipt if you have not yet received your card.   You will not be considered for this position if you do not have a Working with Children Check or if you fail to gain a Working with Children Check.

2.       Certificates of completion Australian Sports Commission “Community Coaching General Principles” plus “Play by the Rules – Child Protection”.   These are online courses which can be accessed through the ASC Online Learning Portal at  https://learning.ausport.gov.au/auth/login/?returnUrl=%2F . Once you have completed the course you will be able to print off a Certificate of Completion.   Please scan and send a copy of this certificate with your application.   If you have previously completed these courses please scan and send a copy of your certificates.

The application form can be completed electronically and emailed to secretary@archeryvic.org.au

Applications must be received by close of business 27 February 2019.  Applications will be considered by the AV Board and the successful applicants notified as soon as possible.

The State Team Managers will appoint accredited officials prior to the event.
