Over the past few months, we’ve successfully delivered both a Level 2 Development Coach Course and a Level 1 Participation Coach Course. In addition, a number of coaches have renewed their accreditations for another three years. A heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for your commitment to supporting your clubs and upholding high standards across our archery community. Your work plays a vital role in welcoming new archers and helping athletes reach their potential.

📍 Venue to be confirmed (likely Melbourne-based) - Level 2 Development Coach Course

🟢 Level 1 Participation Coach Course
✅ Eligibility:
Nominees must:
- Be 16 years or older
- Be an Archery Australia member for at least 12 months
- Hold a valid Working with Children Check
- Have a reasonable understanding of archery technique
- Have assisted with at least two Come and Try sessions at club level
🧠 About the Course:
This course equips coaches to safely and confidently deliver Come and Try sessions to the general public. It includes both theory and hands-on learning.
📝 Course Requirements:
- Completion of two online courses (~3–6 hrs total):
- Review of Level 1 pre-learning materials (~2 hrs):
Pre-learning site - Workbook completion (~2–6 hrs)
- Attendance at course sessions (~8 hrs)
- Practical assessment (~30 mins)
- Submission of Working with Children Check and minimal additional paperwork
Venue for the 2 August course will be confirmed based on participant locations.
🟠 Level 2 Development Coach Course
✅ Eligibility:
Nominees must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Have held Level 1 accreditation for at least 12 months
- Have actively supported at least two beginner/OzBow sessions in the past year
- Hold a valid Working with Children Check
- Be competent archers with a strong understanding of technique
🧠 About the Course:
This course is for coaches ready to go beyond the basics—delivering beginner/OzBow courses and supporting archers progressing into competition. It builds on Level 1 knowledge with more advanced tools and techniques.
📝 Course Requirements:
- Pre-course preparation (~10–16 hrs):
- Complete online modules:
- Review pre-learning materials
- Complete as much as possible of the course workbook (this workbook can be added to and completed during the learning phase of the course). Workbook will be provided with the joining instructions following acceptance of nominations
- Online learning (~12 hrs over 4 evenings)
- Half-day face-to-face practical session (date/venue arranged with participants)
