Purpose
Designed to fill the void between practicing at your club and wanting to compete in competitions or simply expand your knowledge base and meet other archers as well as travel to different clubs around Victoria. These days are not just for archers, this is a chance for any accredited coach to attend and learn as well. There are no score requirements to participate in these days.
Frequency
Training days are held a minimum of 4 times per year. 2 events are specifically for Juniors, the other 2 are “Open” events. These are ideally to be held on a date that does not conflict with other competitions.
Structure
These training days are opportunities for archers of a similar level to share the knowledge that they have gained throughout their experiences in the sport. These are not necessarily “coaching days” as such, but more of an opportunity to connect with other archers and learn more about the sport. Whether that is technique related, or simply a better understanding of the competition structure and how to progress within the sport.
We recognize that 80% of our membership base does not regularly attend competitions and so these days are not simply just to improve the competitiveness of attendees. But to improve their enjoyment of the sport, by forming new connections and learning more about what archery has to offer.
State Team Involvement
Although not currently a requirement for State Team members, we will be inviting them to be part of these sessions and host a Q&A session for attendees during the lunch break on these training days. This could be about their experience traveling to Nationals and what they learnt along the way, technical questions or simply learning more about the way different clubs operate across the state. We encourage any clubs hosting these, “Training Days”. To reach out to state team members to be involved.

12:00-1:00 Lunch Break followed by Q&A from attending State Team Member
